Beam drill line & Steel construction machinery

Beam drill line

Ficep S.p.A. was established in 1930 and is located at the foot of the Alps on the northern border between Switzerland and Italy. Since the beginning, Ficep has been exclusively engaged in the engineering and manufacturing of machine tools for the metalworking industry.

During the evolution of the Ficep product line, the product range has developed into two specific groups. One product group area is systems specifically designed for the forging industry. The general product areas within this group are:

  • Mechanical cold shears
  • Hydraulic hot shears
  • Screw presses
  • Manipulators

The second product group consists of machine tools and systems that are designed to fabricate structural steel and plate for the steel fabrication industry. This diverse product group contains the following general product lines of structural steel fabricating machinery.

Hydraulic ironworkers and single end punches

Two axis CNC plate punches and drills such as plate duplicators CNC angle, flat and channel systems for punching, drilling and shearing to length, such as anglemasters, angle line, angle iron, angle line punch and shear, clip angle line CNC plate fabrication systems for punching, drilling, marking, milling and burning to size finished plate parts, such as plate processing CNC lines Single and multiple spindle structural steel drilling lines, such as beam drill, beam drill lines, CNC beam drill lines CNC coping system for structural steel with plasma and oxy-fuel cutting, such as beam coper, beam coping machine CNC controlled band and cold saws, such as beam saws, metal band saws, dual-column dual-mitre band saw

Drill lines

As the drilling applications for structural steel are quite varied, Ficep has developed an extremely comprehensive product line of 21 different CNC drill line systems to provide the most productive and cost effective solution for your application. The Ficep drill line system can be provided as a stand-alone CNC beam drill line system or in tandem with either a CNC controlled saw or a CNC controlled robotic coping system that is available with both plasma and oxy-fuel.

Plasma cut and Oxy-fuel cut

The Ficep CNC plate processing centers offer capabilities that are just not available in the market. The ability to generate holes by punching and drilling in the same CNC plate processing center affords the user unprecedented versatility. This dual function capability has been part of the Ficep CNC plate processing systems for the past decade. The combination of both drilling and punching with up to eight different tools for each process adds substantially to the flexibility of the Ficep CNC plate processing system.

CNC beam coping

The versatility of the Ficep Robotic CNC beam coping system addresses not only the challenges of today's steel contracts, but its versatility gives the fabricator a system that is versatile to also attack the next complex contract that is awarded. This structural steel burning system generates total flexibility as the torch can be articulated to process all surfaces so it can achieve a full complement of CNC beam coping applications. The Ficep CNC beam coping system can be provided with both oxy-fuel and plasma torches to maximize the typical beam coping operations.

Plate Duplicators

Fabricators around the world are recognizing the labor savings advantages of a CNC plate duplicator to generate their plate and angle detail requirements. The Ficep plate duplicators eliminate the time consuming layout and hole production that is associated with the production of plate and angle detail components. A hydraulic punching head in conjunction with an optional drilling head gives the Ficep plate duplicators the capability to process applications that require either punching or drilling. The plate duplicators can be equipped with either multiple punches to accommodate up to four different hole sizes.

Material Handling Systems

The productivity of any structural steel CNC system is greatly enhanced with the addition of an integrated material handling system. Ficep offers a complete complement of material handling systems to accommodate any fabricator's plant layout. The material handling system can process sections up to 300 pounds per foot or as an alternative a heavier material handling system can be furnished to process sections up to 730 pounds per foot. The material handling system consists of roller conveyor and cross transfer systems that are either of the lift and carry or chain driven dog design.
